Discover Japanese Massage

Massage is the treatment that tends to relax the muscles through rubbing, kneading, rolling or slapping. Surprisingly, its effects go more than that. It has for several instances cured illnesses. Several techniques have been developed from all over the world, all for the aim of wellness and better health.

In the Orient, it has become more than an option for well-being. Rather, it has become a way of life. Japanese massage has become one of the most popular types of massage worldwide. It is termed Shiatsu. This form of oriental therapy has advanced from several thousands of years of old tradition of different arts of healing.

Shiatsu is a Japanese word that means finger pressure. Pressure application is its guiding principle. Oftentimes, Shiatsu is called acupressure, even if it is technically incorrect. It entails the rousing of the acupoints by putting pressure on it. This pressure is not only confined top articular points but it could be applied over a bigger area. Shiatsu therapists use their fingers and thumb in applying pressure accurately at restricted points. If pressure is to be applied to a wider area, elbows, palms, knees, and feet are used.

An integration of assisted-stretching methods and pressure is employed in Shiatsu. The action encourages the flow and distribution of lymphatic fluid, lets go of toxins and deeply rooted stress from the muscles, stimulates the immune system and hormonal system, and works on the autonomic nervous system, providing the recipient deep relaxation.
