Akihabara - Japan's Electric Town

Akihabara is famously known all over the world as Japan’s “Electric Town”. The mass of people shopping at this area on any given day, attest to this fact.

Situated on the eastern side of Tokyo’s Chiyoda ward, where the Yamanote and Sobu lines cross, one can find just about any gadget or electronic appliance one can think of. From computers to printers and handheld organizers; from refrigerators to vacuum cleaners and washers…as long as it runs on electricity, you can find it all in Akihabara.

This hi-tech neighborhood is not only a place to find the latest electronic technology. It is also a haven for hobbyist. Just past the bigger shops are specialty stores selling particular lines of antiques, hobby kits and Manga (cartoon and animation films).

Truly, for every electronic gadget you need, there is a store in Akihabara which will provide you with one.
