Maruyama Keita
Maruyama Keita belongs to a new breed of Japanese
Designers. He began working freelance for entertainers and
not until 1997 did he hold is first show in Paris.
Because he
grew up in the modern age of Pop Rock and Neon trends, the
West doesn’t recognize him as a Japanese designer.
He however uses Oriental motifs in his designs. He also makes
use of the essence of the kimono into his creations and in
1999 launched a collection based on it.
This young designer’s
style leans towards vintage dressing and is very popular
in the US, Europe, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
