Furniture
Although not a large exporter of standard or
business furniture, Japan stills maintains a small percentage
of its export income from its finely crafted traditional furniture.
Many households throughout the world enjoy the style and sophistication
that Japanese furniture can add to their décor. Japanese
futon furniture became popular in the United States in the
1980’s and 1990’s and exports of this type of furniture
increased for a while, until manufacturers in the U.S. began
making more of their own.
The main Japanese furniture exports
will remain its quality-crafted and finely detailed wooden
furniture such as it’s many
types of cabinets, tables, and elegantly designed room dividers
and screens. The Japanese tradition of “simple yet elegant” keeps
its furniture in demand all over the world.
