Temples & Shrines in Japan
Most of Japan’s famous attractions are its religious monuments
scattered all over the country and each structure is impressive
and distinct from one another. These religious monuments are
commonly referred to as shrines and temples.
The shrines and temples of Japan are mostly inspired by two
of the most widely practised religions in Japan: Shintoism and
Buddhism. All of these structures are places of worship with
the main difference being that shrines are from Shinto religion
while temples pertain to Buddhism.
